About the Role

An imaginative world of brands, characters and entertainment will create exciting corporate and consumer PR opportunities for this new Head of Communications to lead on. This is a newly created role within an established brand on an exciting and fast paced journey, with innovative new experiences and content in the pipeline poised to create further growth.

The last few years have been a period of rapid growth with recent successes including licensing collaborations, West End musicals, plus a slate of new movies. Over the coming months there will be a new animated series, immersive experience, new publishing, more West End & Broadway hits, and a global brand presence in licensing and partnerships. This is an exciting time to be joining the team!

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, this person will be responsible for devising and delivering their communications strategy across a range of entertainment, publishing, theatre and other brand related projects. As well as delivering and coordinating global media campaigns on behalf of the brand, you’ll also lead on guiding their corporate reputation work.

Requirements

What you’ll do

  • Working with the Head of Marketing, you’ll drive and execute the global consumer and corporate PR plans on behalf of the business.

  • You will be key in driving the success of their relationships with creative partners. You will work in close tandem with key comms counterparts to guide and deliver successful international media across an exciting and extensive slate of entertainment and publishing releases.

  • Own brand reputation management, in consultation with external agencies, and provide counsel to management and different business departments as needed.

  • Maintain high level of knowledge about corporate strategy and be proactive about proposing communications solutions to business challenges.

  • Act as the central media coordinator and provide sign off for all wider comms activity, working with our network of licensees and partners to ensure consistent media positioning.

  • Press office management, including responding to and resolving media enquiries.

  • Write and edit internal and external communications that help the company communicate brand purpose in clear and compelling ways, with a focus on establishing their employer branding.

  • Partner with HR and Culture Committee to establish and deliver an internal communications strategy, in collaboration with partners where applicable.

  • Ensure that department leads are appropriately supported and prepared for media activity and other external engagements.

  • Manage traditional and social listening programs and research as needed.



What you’ll bring

  • Significant communications experience, preferably within the licensing and/or brand and entertainment industry

  • Solid experience spanning brand comms, media relations and corporate/ reputation management

  • Ability to take a lead on issues management

  • A deep understanding of media relations

  • Good relationships with relevant media across national and trade press, with a strong understanding of the UK and US media landscape

  • Creativity and ability to proactively generate press coverage for priority campaigns

  • Proven media liaison skills across print, broadcast, online and social media

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and an excellent relationship builder

  • Flexibility, resourcefulness and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
